Darrell Toma, MSc, PAg, CMC

Darrell Toma has over 25 years of experience in professional consulting and has been heavily involved in Western Canada's value added developments. He has conducted over 350 projects in project economics/ planning, trade, management issues and strategy and policy. He has experience in applied research projects, technology commercialization and new ventures. 

Darrell previously was with Deloittee & Touche as a Principal. He has experience in water and resource issues. He has worked and traveled in Canada, Australia, Egypt, the USA, Romania, Korea, Hong Kong, Mexico and Japan.

He is involved in the community and has been recognized with some awards:

  • Board of directors of the Economics Society of Northern Alberta, the AIC, ICMCA, CCAA and member of AFPA, AIA and CAMC
  • Distinguished Agrologists Award from the Alberta Institute of Agrologists
  • Make It Happen Award from the Canadian Consulting Agrologists Association
  • Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for Community Service in 2003 from the Governor General
  • Alberta Centennial Medal for community service in 2006 from the Alberta government 

His main interests in professional matters include: business strategy and economic development, developing collaborations and industry analysis and competitiveness issues. 

He has worked internationally, been a keynote speaker/ published articles, has 4 boys and enjoys sports in his spare time.
